Sunday 14th February not only was valentines day, but the Barrow Raiders were in town to take on the Widnes Vikings for another game of the northern rail cup, from the Stobart Stadium, Halton.
The last the sides met in the northern rail cup was in the 2009 finial at Blackpool were the Vikings won the cup.
The home side the Widnes Vikings kicked off the game when Shane Grady kick the ball off the tee to the Barrow Raiders.
The first time of the game came in the 12th minute, from Barrows James Nixon, when he went into the corner for the away side. A successful conversion from Jaime Rooney put the Raiders up 0-6.
In the 21st minute the Vikings got there try from Liam Farrell after a pass from Anthony Thackery to get the Widnes point adding up on the score board, and with Shane Grady adding the extras this point the Vikings draw at 6-6.
Barrow got there second try in the 25th minute, this time from Liam Harrison, Jaime Rooney added the extras once again, this got them back in the lead at 6-12.
Another try followed for the Raiders in the 28th, this one came from Nathan Mossop in the corner after the ball was kept alive, with no successful conversion this score was at 6-16.
Jaime Ronney converted a penalty in the 37th minute from Barrow to get the score 6-18.
Half Time (6-18)
In the 51st minute Barrow attempted to take the two after a penalty, Jaime Rooney made it successful to get the score to 6-20 for the away side.
In the 61st minute the Vikings hit back with a try just to the left of the sticks, this time from Dave Houghton after just being put back onto the pitch, and an easy conversion for Shane Grady put the score at 12-20.
Vikings got another try in the 77th minute when Thomas Coyle and Shane Grady adding the extra to get the score at 18-20.
A last minute try for the Vikings, Shaun Ainscough to win the game for the Vikings.
