Match Report:
Thursday 18th March 2010 brought the Halifax side to the Stobart Stadium Halton to take on Widnes Vikings in front of the Sky Sports cameras for the Co-Operative Championship.
Halifax kicked the game off to the Vikings in their pink charity kit to get the game underway.
The first try of the game came in the 3rd minute when the Vikings pushed there way over the line by Thomas Coyle to get the scoring opening up, and with Shane Grading successfully converting the try brought the Widnes Vikings in the lead at 6-0.
In the 14th minute the Widnes side gained a goal line drop out after the Halifax side put a hand to the ball when a kick was put it, sadly nothing game from this.
Halifax hit back in the 23rd mine when Rob Worringan went over after avoiding the Vikings deference, Lee Paterson converted the goal after it hitting the post to make it successful to get the score at 6-6 even.
After Widnes losing the ball in play, Halifax’s Paul White picked up the ball to run 80 metres of the pitch to score for his side and to get them in the lead for the first time of the game, Lee Paterson couldn’t make the conversion successful and left the score at 6-10.
In the 32nd minute, Lee Patterson scored for Halifax under the sticks after coming in from the right and side and got out of the way from a few tackles from the Widnes side, and with converting his own try put the score at 6-16.
In the 35th minute a Halifax grounding went to the video referee to look after the kick put into the goal area, from this it was not given and the Vikings took advantage of play. After James Webster put a kick into field in the 36th minute for the Widnes winger to attack the try line, the try was not given by the video referee.
In the 39th minute, on the 5th tackle a kick was booted over to the corner for the Halifax player to have the ball come off him and Lee Doran to score for the Widnes Vikings just before half time, but sadly the conversion was missed by Shane Grady when the ball hit the cross bar, this left the score at 10-16 at half time.

Shane Grady kicked the ball off for the second half for Sean Penkywicz to catch it for Halifax to get the game underway for the second time.
In the 44th minute Halifax got a penalty where they decided to take the two and kick at goal, Lee Paterson made it successful to put the score to 10-18.
In the 51st minute after pushing forward to the try line, Thomas Coyle moved himself over the line, and with Shane Grady adding the extras once again brought the score to 16-18.
54th minute and Halifax pushed forward and went to the corner but yet again it was the video referee who called no try and gave the Vikings a penalty where they got to there 30 metre line.
After a pass from Lee Doran in the 61st minute put Viking’s Liam Farrell to go under the sticks after a thunder down field toward the line, and with Shane Grady making the conversion successful again put the Widnes Vikings back in the lead at 22-18.
Widnes Vikings decided to kick to goal in the 69th minute, sadly Shane Grady hit the post from the 30 metre line and Halifax took control of the ball. Just after the 71st minute Gareth Haggerty came off the pitch with a leg injury for the Vikings.
71st minute and Halifax hit back with a try from Shad Royston and a successful conversion from Luke Brannigan put them back in the lead at 22-24. Just after in the 76th Sean Penkywic went over for Halifax and with Luke Brannigan converting put the score at 22-30.
In the 79th minute the Vikings went in the corner when Richard Varkulis scored for the Vikings and with Shane Grady making the conversion successful put the score at 28-30.
