Sunday 24th January brought the Vikings once again at the Stobart Stadium to take on the City Reds for the second friendly of 2010.
The Vikings yet again playing in the golden away kit due to Salford bringing there white kit.
The Widnes side kick off the first half to the Salford super league team to get the game underway.
The first try of the game came from Salford’s Karl Fitzpatrick just after the 1st minute mark, no problem for Stefan Ratchford to get a successful conversion under the sticks to but the way side up 0-6.
The second try from Salford side came in the 10th minute after the ball bouncing off the Vikings player and Ste Tyrer running 80 yard for his try of the game, the number 6 Stefan Ratchford missed the conversion to get the score at 0-10.
In the 17th minute, Karl Fitzpatrick got another try for the City Reds, with Stefan Ratchford adding the extras, this got the score at 0-16.
Half Time (0-16)
In the 41st minute Salford’s Ashley Gibson got his try of the match, no extras added to get the score 0-20.
Adam Sidlow got Salford another try in the 45th minute, no extra added, this got the score at 0-24. Ste Tyrer got another try in he 61st minute for the City Reds. In the 64th minute, Luke Adamson scored a try for Salford in the corner. This put the score at 0-32.
Another try for Salford in the 70th minute, this time from Jodie Broughton, with no successful conversion, this put the score at 0-36.
