Match Report:

In the 1st minute, Ben Davis got  a yellow card for a late tackle and from this Whitehaven went for the two where Gregg McNally successfully kicked the penalty to get the score open at 0-2.

The Vikings produced the first try of the game in the 5th minute when Anthony Thackery went in for a try on his 40th game for  Widnes and also his 100th point for the club. After a successful conversion for Shane Grady had put the score up to 6-2.

Vikings scored again the 10th minute, this time from James Ford after Shane Grady passing the ball out just before going into tackle to score into the corner. Just after from a pass out to Lee Doran got him his try in his 70th appearance for the home side, and with the conversion taking place just in front of the sticks gave Shane Grady his 50th goal for the Widnes Vikings and also added the extras to the try, this got the score up 16-2.

The home side scored yet again the 16th minute after Chris Gerrard side stepped his way across the line, and with Shane Grady producing another successful conversion made  the score twenty points different at 22-2. Toa Kohe Love walked his way into the corner to place the ball down for his try of the game in the 19th minute of play. Shortly after in the 23rd minute, Matt Gardner went over in the corner after a pass from James Ford.

In the 29th Leroy Joe pushed his way over the line for Whitehaven after Widnes where caught offside, with Gregg McNally successfully converting put the score at 30-8.

Half Time (36-8)

In the 44th minute after bouncing over the line after a pass out and a drive down field, gave Danny Hulme his 1st try  for the Widnes Vikings, and with Shane Grady adding the extras put the score at 36-8.

In the 65th minute Shane Grady broke through the gap to score his 1st try of the game for the Widnes Vikings, and with him converting his own try put the score at 42-8.

After a thundering run down the whole pitch from Anthony Thackery and passing the ball to Paddy Flynn to score the try under the sticks for the home side in the 71st minute, and with Shane Grady adding the extras put the score at 48-8.

Whitehaven’s Ian Mort scored in the 76th minute, and with Mick Govin converting put the score at 48-14. A try on the 80th minute from Stephen Dawes for Whitehaven, this put the score final at 48-18.
